Gretchen Hoyt
Business Outreach & Development
Gretchen is a lifelong resident of Vancouver, where she has dedicated the past two decades to various roles, including homemaker, volunteer, and staff member in some awesome local establishments. In 2018, her life took a transformative turn when she encountered a significant personal experience related to a loved one’s mental health.
This led her to NAMI Southwest Washington in 2021, with hopes to support individuals facing mental health challenges and advocate for improved behavioral healthcare. She joined the staff as the Business Outreach and Development Coordinator on NAMI’s staff in 2023. She is very eager to foster meaningful and compassionate connections among the members of the community she holds dear.
Outside of the NAMI office, you will find Gretchen engaged in archival work at the Two Rivers Heritage Museum, pursuing her passion for knitting, and indulging in her love for reading. Her most cherished moments, however, are spent with her husband, daughter, and her loyal companions, Medic the dog and Cricket the cat.
Dylan Forbes
Outreach and Programs Manager
Dylan Forbes served as an Aircraft Fuel Systems Mechanic in the US Air Force from 2008 until 2019. He served in multiple duty stations across Asia and Europe during his illustrious career. He was a Victim Advocate for individuals who experienced trauma in the military and held a special duty as an Ancillary Training Instructor.
After military service, he continued to serve his community as a volunteer Alpine ski Patroller at Mount Hood, Oregon, until COVID-19 and a family member’s illness caused Dylan to start taking his mental health personally. After two years of self-work, Dylan found NAMI to reconnect with the community. He found like-minded individuals who chose to break down the stigma of mental health.
