Advocacy

Welcome to the NAMI Southwest Washington’s ADVOCACY page.

NAMI advocates to improve the lives of people affected by mental health conditions. From the U.S. Capitol to state legislatures to local city councils, the NAMI Alliance uses the power of lived experience to shape how our country helps people with mental illness.

You have the power to change how decision makers support people with mental health conditions. Your personal story can change the hearts and minds of policymakers. Our grassroots advocates have helped pass laws and mental health reform, expanded coverage, and successfully fought back attempts to end patient protections.

NAMI SW WA is committed to mental health advocacy. This can include presentations about mental illness, anti-stigma, or specific mental health topics. We are continually working on developing new, relevant, and innovative ideas for outreach and participating in events hosted by others in the community.

Your engagement powers our impact with policymakers.

Join us and make a difference.
