Find Help, Find Hope!

Volunteer at NAMI SW WA

Dear Prospective Volunteer,

Thank you for your interest in becoming a NAMI Southwest Washington volunteer. We would love to get to know you better and help you learn more about us to see if we would be a good fit. NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, of Southwest Washington (NAMI SW WA) is dedicated to helping all people affected by mental illness through education, support, awareness, and advocacy.

Our service area is Clark, Cowlitz, Skamania, and Wahkiakum counties in Washington State with an office in Vancouver. Through our mission, we provide unique mental health services that are unavailable or inaccessible elsewhere for individuals and families affected by mental health issues through education, support, and advocacy.

As a NAMI SW WA volunteer, you will gain access to NAMI trainings that will teach you valuable skills on leading groups and discussions. These skills are also applicable to everyday life. Volunteering also helps counteract the effects of stress, anger, and anxiety. The social contact aspect of helping and working with others can have a profound effect on your overall psychological well-being. Your valuable lived experience can help to change the lives of other members in your community struggling with their own or their loved one’s mental health.
