Join NAMI Southwest Washington for our Shine the Light: Suicide Prevention & Awareness Summit, an afternoon dedicated to raising awareness, educating our community, and fostering hope around one of today’s most pressing mental health issues—suicide prevention.
This free event brings together individuals, families, organizations, and mental health advocates to increase understanding, break down stigma, and create meaningful conversations. Through education, personal stories, and community connection, we aim to build a foundation of compassion, empowerment, and resilience.
Meet Our Guest Speaker: Jenny Thrasher
We are proud to welcome Jenny Thrasher, creator of Thrive Education, as our keynote speaker. With more than 20 years of experience in mental health and wellness, Jenny combines research, lived experience, and practical tools to empower individuals and organizations to move from survival to thriving.
Her unique dual approach to suicide prevention—what she calls the yin and yang of Thrive Education—emphasizes both the prevention of suicide and the empowerment to live fully. Her talk will draw from her two books, What If… and Anything Is Possible, inspiring attendees to imagine bold new ways forward.
“What if the key to transforming mental health and suicide prevention is simpler than we think? What if anything is possible?” – Jenny Thrasher
