By NAMI Southwest Washington
NAMIWalks is almost here, and we are excited to come together once again for a day centered on connection, awareness, and support. Events like NAMIWalks are about more than showing up for a walk. They are about reminding our community that mental health matters, that no one has to navigate mental health challenges alone, and that hope grows stronger when people come together. Join us at Marine Park in Vancouver, WA on May 30 at 11:30 am!
At NAMI Southwest Washington, NAMIWalks helps support the free programs and services we provide throughout the year. From support groups and classes to youth outreach and community education, this event helps make it possible for us to continue offering resources that reduce stigma, increase understanding, and help people feel seen and supported. Every person who walks, donates, volunteers, or cheers others on becomes part of that mission.
Why NAMIWalks Matters
Mental health affects individuals, families, workplaces, schools, and every part of our community. Many people are carrying more than others can see, and too often they do so in silence. NAMIWalks creates a space where people can come together openly, support one another, and show that mental health deserves compassion, conversation, and care.
This event is also a reminder that support matters before crisis. When we invest in awareness, education, and connection, we help build a stronger, healthier community for everyone. That is what makes NAMIWalks so meaningful year after year.
A Community Effort
One of the most powerful parts of NAMIWalks is seeing how many people and organizations step forward to support mental health for all. Community support makes this event possible, and we are deeply grateful for the sponsors who are helping us bring this year’s walk to life.
Their partnership reflects a shared commitment to reducing stigma, increasing access to support, and helping create communities where mental health is taken seriously and treated with compassion.
Presenting Sponsor, Haven Treatment Center
As Presenting Sponsor, Haven Treatment Center’s partnership helps strengthen NAMI Southwest Washington’s ability to provide no-cost mental health education, family support groups, advocacy initiatives, and community outreach programs throughout the region.
“Haven Treatment Center’s support represents more than sponsorship — it reflects a shared commitment to mental health access, compassion, and community support,” said Kim Schneiderman, Executive Director of NAMI Southwest Washington. “Partnerships like this help ensure individuals and families impacted by mental health conditions know they are not alone and have access to resources, education, and hope.”
NAMIWalks is one of the nation’s largest mental health awareness and fundraising events, mobilizing communities to support Mental Health for All. Locally, NAMIWalks SW WA serves as both a fundraiser and a public demonstration of solidarity for individuals and families navigating mental health challenges.
“We are honored to support NAMI Southwest Washington and the important work they do throughout the community,” said Margie Barilla, CEO of Haven Treatment Center. “Mental health impacts every community, and we believe in the importance of increasing awareness, reducing stigma, and expanding access to support and care.”
